If you’re looking for something truly unique to make your wedding really stand out, or the perfect unforgettable gift, we are here to help.

We are a theatre company and we specialise in creating immersive performance and theatrical experiences for all manner of people and places.

From the romance of “glamping” under the stars with the added treat of a grown-up treasure hunt, to a live motion picture brought to you by our “Cine-Car”, we have lots of options to add rustic glamour and unadulterated fun to your wedding day.

Have a look at what we can offer below and get in touch with us to chat about your ideas and how we can make your wedding even more lovely and memorable.

NUPTIAL TENT

Taking inspiration from our parents 1978 nuptial tent, we will furnish and dress the interior of a honey coloured bell tent. Using flowers, white Egyptian bed linen, champagne and poetry, we will provide a warm bed and an unforgettably romantic setting for your wedding night.

Inside the tent, you’ll find a treasure hunt created especially for you. A clue under your pillow that leads you to a book… A vintage box with a combination lock… A cassette tape hidden in a pot full of beans… And a key that unlocks a treasure box full of handwritten wishes from your friends and family.

We are experienced at creating narrative treasure hunts. Our show ‘The Children of Modernity’ is set in a bell tent in the 1970s and is currently touring.

CINE-CAR ROMANCE – bespoke shows

As the name suggests, Cine-Car is a cinema in a car. Complete with popcorn, usherettes and a back seat, your five minute show will combine film projected onto the windscreen with real live action.

We have a film noir version of the Cine-Car and are currently developing a romance especially for weddings. All we’ll ask from you are a few details about the happy couple and we will tailor this romantic motion-picture just for them.

Cine-Car will add glamour, excitement and vintage style to any reception. It will create a spectacle for guests who are content to mingle and an unforgettable adventure for each small group of audience members.

WEDDING TENT – by Ali Heywood

SEPTEMBER 2nd 1978

Our wedding was 2nd September 1978 in the Quaker Meeting House in Painswick, I took him to be ‘my friend’ and he took me, and thirty  two years on we are still those friends. Perhaps the tent had something to do with It ……..

After a year working in a refugee camp in Thailand I could not see the point of a lavish, extravagant celebration but one that was full of fun and family and friends, food and music. The Cambodian refugees always found reasons to celebrate even at the hardest times so they were an inspiration. I did not even mind that someone else wore the same dress as me at my wedding.

Ali and Pip's wedding partyLunch in Paradise where I was brought up, was followed in the evening by a party. Pip’s parents were artists living in a new modernist house overlooking a valley near Stroud and seemed to me very ‘modern’. Supper of ratatouille and rice, was followed by friends playing music, and as the evening drew towards midnight we were danced into the garden and into the most amazing nuptual tent. It was draped in true 70’s style with rugs and hangings and a washstand with a jug and bowl with rose petals floating on the water.

We went inside and found a beautiful bed made up with white linen and a bottle of champagne on the pillow, looking closer we found a sculpture of two hugging penguins with our names written in gold on their bellies made by our dear friend Andrew Wood. It was the most beautiful wedding tent lit with lamps and lying their listening to the laughter outside.

Remembering how it felt has added a kind of poignancy to recreating the magic for other people. We can still remember all the little thoughtful details which Oliver and Denise must have had fun putting in the tent for us.

It did not make us into campers though until our children gave us a beautiful bell tent for our thirtieth wedding anniversary, then we had the opportunity to recreate the magic.
